In 1990 I was fresh out of the Army and working as a casual security guard for a large security company in Sydney Australia. At very short notice I was rostered to work five twelve-hour nightshifts guarding what I was simply told was a construction site. All I was given was an address. When I arrived at the address, just before sunset, I recognized it as being part of Gladesville Hospital, otherwise known as Gladesville Mental Hospital.
This was the place the government sent the criminally insane, the ones that were too violent to let out into the community or hospitalize anywhere else. The foreman gave me a brief tour of the building explaining it was going ...

One day me and my friends decided to do a Ouija board when we were around our friend Steph's house. We set it up in her bedroom and put the glass in the middle. At first nothing happened but after fifteen minutes the glass started to twitch. Steph thought that we were playing a joke on her and she said, "Prove that there is something there". Big mistake! The glass zoomed across the board and ran over my friend Naomi's hand, slicing her fingers.
Everyone still kept their finger on the glass, though. The room went really cold and started to smell of rotten meat. Then Steph lost it and ran out the room and down to her mum crying. Everything went ...

There is a ghost in my cabin. The ghost has real long straight blonde hair and looks about 16/17 yrs old. My cabin is on a man made lake on which many people boat on. The first time I saw the ghost I thought it was my imagination, however about a week later I saw the ghost once again. Then I became curious. I asked neighbors and one very old one told me that there was a boat accident in which the girls hair got caught in the propeller and she got so alarmed, she fell back and the propeller blade killed her.
Odd stuff always happens. Things fall off of the walls, blankets end up on the floor and I feel her presence all of the time. I also discovered another inte ...

Lived in a home that literally became frightening at night. Both myself and my little brother saw an apparition within the home that had no features but was VERY tall and dark. Didn't speak about it for years.
When we reached adulthood we spoke of it and realized we saw the same thing. There was always a sense of forbidding in this home. Years later I returned to find the home had been totally demolished. To this day I still feel drawn to it. I now live across the country but it still haunts my memories. ...

There is a haunting that I went through in Sea Side, Oregon, in one beach house that my family rented one summer in July for Independence Day. I don't remember the address, but I do remember that the house was two stories and was a mulberry-purple color and very old. The story of the haunting is about a little 7-8 year old girl who loved to play with her toys on the stairs and one day she fell, broke her neck and died instantly. People who have rented the place had said they've heard little footsteps at night going up and down the stairs.
Also, door knobs rattle and lights are turned on or off in the middle of the night as my cousins and my aunt experi ...

Hi, my name is Ashley and I am 13 years old. One night I was staying at the Manresa Castle. It was a surprise because I had to go to school the next day but my step-sister and her mom thought that it would be fun if they would take me and my step-sister's grandmother to the castle to stay.
When I found out, I thought that it would be great because I wouldn't have to go to school the next day. Well, that night me and my sister went around to look at the different pictures and things they had there. When we went back to the room, which was on the top floor, room 302, the Turret, the door was locked and we thought that the parents were in there. We sta ...

There is a haunted house on the beach road in my city, Sharjah. Apparently if someone spends one night in that house the sprits in that house will leave and that person will own the house plus get a large sum of money. Two of my friends decided to go there one night to check it out. No one knew about this since it was not publicized and was heard about only through word of mouth. So, they are standing in front of the house thinking of going in but they decided to throw a stone over the gate to see what happened.
They threw a pointed stone which could easily be recognized by them and waited. They waited for 15 minutes but nothing happened. They thought it was a ...

I used to live in a haunted house with my parents years ago. We would often hear loud crashes, as if a tea and dinner service had been all smashed at one, but we never found the cause. Also, footsteps would be seen in the snow over where we used to have an old well but none leading to it or from it...just over it.
My dog and cat were walking up the stairs to the patio when the cat went like a fur ball and spat and had diarrhea all over everyone and did not come back for at least four days. The dog, which was walking slowly behind, also took one look at the kitchen window and he also had diarrhea and he was howling like mad. We had to pick him up to bring h ...

Hello, my name is Coral and I wish to share my stories with you and everyone. I live in New Zealand in an old house. It's around 19 years old. I still live with my parents but they can't see what I see. My father use to see ghosts a lot when he was a teenager. When he moved into this house at 20 he had experiences where, one night, he was fast asleep but woke from feeling extremely sick.
He could not get out of his bed. He was floating in the air still laying on his bed, his face directly staring right into the ceiling, with a man on the ground looking at him. He has experienced other things. Now he is 45 and can't see these things but he remembe ...

When my mother was younger she had a bet with her older brother "that there was life after death" in which he didn't believe. He died when he was 26 in a terrible crane accident. Anyway, I was around four at the time of my uncle's death and on a normal Saturday morning I went shopping with my mother.
As we were walking along the road, a man bumped in to my mother causing her to drop her bag! The man and myself helped my mum to pick the food of the ground and, as he stood up to walk off, he said to my mother, "Kim, you won the bet." She stood up and called her brother's name and he raised his hand as if to say, "It is m ...
