This story happened to my mother many years ago. She had a friend who was married to an abusive husband. He would slap her around often. One time he had given her a pretty good beating and she was hospitalized several days later. While in the hospital she had wanted to speak to my mother but she was not allowed to go in.
She died a short time later. My mother was very upset she wasn't able to speak to her dying friend. A few nights later my mother received a late night visitor in the form of her dead friend. She was standing over my mother calling her name softly. My mother told her to "GO AWAY" and she did. My Mom than ran into my Grandmother's room and told her what happened. My Grandmother told her to sleep with her tonight and to say a prayer for her so she can find peace.
So my Mother did both, but as she was drifting off the apparition re-appeared and my mother put her head under the blankets but the ghost tugged on her hair that was sticking out and called her name several times. My mother than told her to "Go away and not to return because she has nothing to say to her". The apparition did just that and never returned. Later my Mother found out that her friend wanted to tell her to look out for her son in the event of her death. Was she coming back to ask her this favor? We think so.
