Sighting of the first kind in 1926
Nicholas Roerich, Russian explorer and artist, while traveling with his companions through Central Asia reported in his travel diary that one of them spotted a silver metallic disc above the Himalayas. The entire group then watched the disc through binoculars for some time until it disappeared beyond mountain peaks.
