I moved in with my boyfriend, now my husband, into his grandparents' home. Shortly after, I began dreaming that a woman was "pulling me out of the bed." After our marriage, such events stopped. I began smelling a sweet perfume smell at night. I asked my husband if his grandmother used some sort of perfume. He told me that she did, and it was very sweet. I was sitting in our living room playing a play station game the first time I smelled the perfume, while he was sleeping. I smelled everything around me. Nothing had that fragrance.
I got so scared that I immediately went to bed. We spoke of it the next day, and come to find out, he (my husband) has actually seen his Grandmother twice! Once, the way she looked in pictures he has seen of her when she was young, and then again in her older state, as he remembered her. Things have gone missing...a watch that I bought him for his birthday suddenly was misplaced. Before that, his keys were "lost", never to be found. One day I just said, "Can we have the watch back, please?" And, the watch appeared the next day on a dresser that we had searched a million times.
The perfume smell would come back now and again, but I would not get scared because I knew that she was protecting her grandson. She has not been "around" in a while and it makes us wonder why some people "hang around" after death. We visited the Myrtles this weekend and it raised the question even more. Why do they stay here? We live in Scott, Louisiana in a house that was built in the early 1900s, one of the first in the town. Only the original owners lived here before us!
