Stories - Haunted Forever

I came across this site and though it would be the perfect place to share some of my experiences with ghosts and such. The first time I could remember an instance is when I was about 10 years old. I was studying for an upcoming test I had in school and I always use to record myself on tape and play it back as a way to study. It may sound strange to some, but was a method that really seemed to work for me. Anyhow, one night I was alone in my home studying (my parents were at my grandmother's house two houses a ways from us).

Well, after I was done tape recording my lessons, I began to rewind the tape and play it back. When I hit play, I was shocked at what I heard. It wasn't me on the tape, not my voice at all, but more a voice that I couldn't make out at all. I couldn't make out what it was saying or anything. It chilled me to the bone.

I immediately unplugged the tape recorder and ran to my grandmother's house. My parents were rather skeptical at first, but then as I played the tape, they were shocked at the voice that came across.

Thinking it must be the tape, they then got a blank tape and recorded something and played it back. It was normal. We then left and returned home and my mom decided to try again. She plugged the recorder into another outlet and recorded herself saying something on a brand new tape. She didn't hear the voice we heard before.

Then she put in the tape of the unknown voice and, to our surprise, it was me, plain as day, reciting my lessons as I had recorded them earlier. Only this time, there was no strange voice. It freaked us out, but not as bad as some of the other things that would happen later. I remember my sister and I.

I was 11 at the time and she was 7. We were sitting in her room playing Barbie dolls when all of a sudden her bed creaked as though someone had just sat down on it. We both looked at each other and then heard the sound again, as though someone was now getting up from the bed. As we were getting up from the floor to exit the room, the closet door flew open and slammed shut.

We both went screaming from the room. Lights would turn off and on, TV, radio. We could even hear voices, more of a whispering, but could never make out the words. It was two voices, like someone was having a conversation, but we could not make out what they were saying. Our dog all of a sudden got mean.

One minute she was nice and you could pet her, but then she would turn and bite you the next. She kept getting worse, and meaner, and she would also just stand in one spot and stare and growl. We couldn't see anything, but it was as though she was looking at something. My mom had experiences that someone was pushing on her chest at night and/or holding her down.

She sometimes felt like there was something at the foot of her bed. In my room, I could feel wind rushing past me, like a breeze, but yet, there were no windows open, or air conditioning. Things continued for a while, but slowed down. Our dog had to be put to sleep, because she became too sick, and none of the vets could explain what was wrong with her.

It's as though she became insane. Most of these things happened when I was little. I am now 28 years old, married with two children, and living in the same house. When my daughter was 2 years old, I put her to sleep. She wanted to sleep in our bed, so I put her in the middle of the bed, covered her up, turned on the night light and shut the door. About 10 to 12 minutes later, I was startled by a scream.

Realizing it was my daughter, I rushed to the room to find her crying and sitting up in bed. I asked her what was wrong and she told me that the ghostie (her word for a ghost) was pushing on her belly and hurting her. She refused to lay down and I had to take her out of the room because she was shaking so badly. My daughter is now 5 and has had no other instances but is very afraid to be alone in our room.

We had the house blessed not too long after that and we haven't had anything unusual happen, until about a month ago. I was in my room reading and I felt this breeze go past me. It was enough to make my hair blow. Then the room went very cold and the lights flickered a few times.

I jumped from bed and went into the living room, where my husband was. I don't know what to make of these experiences. They were not as scary as some of the ones I read on this site, but they were very strange, to say the least. Some people ask us why we don't move. I guess its because we don't feel as though we are not wanted and these things don't happen very often. They seem to span out over years time.

I really have no explanation for these things, and it freaks me out just writing about them.
