Stories - Breaking Glass

I have been reading the accounts on your website and I thought you all might appreciate my story. It's very light-hearted but a little perplexing. My roommate and I used to live in a beautiful apartment in Lincoln, Nebraska that was less than three years old. It was, however inhabited by a presence of some sort.

I could never find any history of any deaths occurring in that area but there was certainly something there. It was very playful but tended to be mildly destructive. It's main focus was anything glass. Admittedly I am a bit clumsy, but it didn't matter where something dropped it would shatter instantly. I am talking carpet, furniture, anywhere. And it didn't matter how tough the glass was supposed to be. That's not to say that things didn't break by themselves.

I once had a bottle of fingernail polish (my very favorite color mind you!) that I swear committed suicide (or was it pushed?). It dove off the sink and literally exploded glass shards and red nail polish everywhere! No matter how hard we tried we could never get rid of it. I even scrubbed with acetone, it was very strange. We used to say that even plastic would probably shatter in our place. Paintings would also occasionally fall off the wall. Fortunately, we are cheap so they were plastic so no harm done. Mind you, we never once felt at all threatened I really just think "he" was trying to get attention.

Usually things only happened when we where home, but there were a few times when we would return home to suspiciously moved or broken items. I always got the sense "he" was just trying to say hello, and maybe play a few practical jokes along the way. Things were constantly misplaced or moved. It got to the point that I would make mental notes where I put something just to make sure I wasn't cracking up. I'm not sure what it was that was there, but if anybody has any ideas I'd appreciate them. I even checked with older people who had lived in the area their whole lives and no one could think of anything. I looked through police records, newspapers, no luck. Now that we have moved we have not broken anything and it has been four months so whatever it was must have stayed in the old place.
